As a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Textiles and Fashion Design Program, my work is shaped by naturalistic influences and a patient approach to making. Coming of age in New York City and Florence, Italy, my muse is the woman on the go who craves versatility and a sense of comfort without sacrificing quality and craft.
My work is process-driven, often intrigued and inspired by the steps to take materials to a wearable form. Through weaving and embellishments, I aim to create garments that work together with their materials and uplift handwork.
In design, I am most drawn to merging old and new practices, particularly through weaving. My studies have led me to develop a deep passion for women’s apparel and its potential to intertwine with handwoven textiles. Slowing down clothing production can start at the loom through bespoke textile creation, a practice I have explored over the past four years. I find solace while creating, and I am working to learn more about my process and how to focus on environmentally conscious design.
